The consultant will support the refinement and final processing of implementation plans for CCAC-funded projects, as well as consultancy agreements to implement specific services aimed at delivering the CCAC’s 2030 Strategy.

The consultant will also support the CCAC sector-specific Hubs, both in convening thought leaders for the sector, as well as bringing together that sector as a community of practice for exchange of information, tools and experiences. In this effort the consultant will support the preparation of briefings on key topics/issues, ensure good communication flows, make a link with country-driven and transformative CCAC-funded projects and implementers, etc.

With the two areas of focus for this consultancy, the Programme Support Consultant will in particular help to bridge programmatic and administrative processes that together make up the CCAC’s project management work.

Duties and Responsibilities
The UNEP-convened Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) is a partnership of governments, intergovernmental organizations, and representatives of the private sector, the environmental community, and other members of civil society.

The CCAC is the only international initiative working on integrated climate and clean air solutions to reduce the rate of near-term warming. It focuses on fast action to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) including methane, black carbon, HFCs and tropospheric ozone. The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) hosts the Secretariat at the Economy Division in Paris.

A Programme Support Consultant is being recruited to support in the delivery of key project management and related administrative functions. The consultant will support the refinement and final processing of implementation plans for CCAC-funded projects, as well as consultancy agreements to implement specific services aimed at delivering the CCAC’s 2030 Strategy.

The consultant will also support the CCAC sector-specific Hubs, both in convening thought leaders for the sector, as well as bringing together that sector as a community of practice for exchange of information, tools and experiences. In this effort the consultant will support the preparation of briefings on key topics/issues, ensure good communication flows, make a link with country-driven and transformative CCAC-funded projects and implementers, etc.

With the two areas of focus for this consultancy, the Programme Support Consultant will in particular help to bridge programmatic and administrative processes that together make up the CCAC’s project management work.

– Design and support filing system and/or database for agreements, including implementing partner contracts, donor agreements, etc
– Support the preparation of documents and data entry for CCAC project implementation
– Design tech/IT solutions to help with CCAC/UNEP internal workflows to bride programmatic and administrative processes
– Assist with travel and event management for CCAC governance or Hub meetings
– Creates templates and systems to ensure consistency across the team for project implementation
– Support the organization of CCAC sector-focused Hub meetings and workshops
– Support outreach to increase contacts on mailing lists for CCAC sector-focused Hubs, building this in the CRM
– Support the development of background briefings focused on SLCP source sectors
– Other ad hoc tasks as required

Qualifications/special skills

Advanced university degree in climate change, air pollution and/or policy or programming, is required.
A minimum of 2 years of professional experience working is required.
– Experience in project management is required.
– Advanced skills in spreadsheets and database management is required.
– Strong skills in technology/software solutions, especially using Microsoft Office 365 tools (especially SharePoint) is an asset.
– Advanced Excel skills, including basic coding, is an asset.

Languages
– Excellent command of English (written and oral) is required.
– Knowledge of additional UN official languages is an asset.
